Leadership

The Health Data Consortium's leadership structure is organized to tap into the expertise of the government, non-profit, and private sector organizations – all stakeholders involved in the creation and use of health data.

Christopher Boone, Chief Executive Officer, Health Data Consortium (HDC)

Chris Boone is CEO of Health Data Consortium. He is a recognized expert in health systems, health informatics, health IT policy, and the use of electronic clinical data to generate clinical and scientific evidence for public policy, quality improvement, and patient-centered outcomes research efforts.

Prior to Health Data Consortium, Chris was a Vice President in Avalere Health’s Evidence Translation and Implementation practice, where he focused on developing evidence generation strategies for professional medical societies, consumer advocacy groups, and life sciences companies. Chris previously held positions at the American Heart Association, Cook Children’s Health Care System, Deloitte Consulting, and Texas Health Resources.

Chris is a former member of the Health IT Policy Committee, a federal advisory committee under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 that advises the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, and a doctorate in Public Affairs and Health Policy from the University of Texas at Dallas. Chris is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a certified professional of healthcare information and management systems (CPHIMS), and a project management professional (PMP).

Board of Directors

The founders of the Health Data Consortium envisioned a leadership team that reflects collaboration and cross-sectoral communication. The Board of Directors span a range of sectors and areas of interest, and each brings rich expertise to HDC.

Advisory Council

The Health Data Consortium Advisory Council give their time and insight on a range of issues, including prioritizing activities, the formal structure of HDC, and more.

Health Datapalooza Steering Committee

The Health Datapalooza Steering Committee serves to guide the strategy and direction of the conference, providing expertise from for-profit, government, and academic settings.

Policy Committee

The Health Data Consortium Policy Committee brings together a number of key stakeholders in government, non-profit and the private sector to work with lawmakers and agencies at the federal, state and local level to promote policies that accelerate the availability and use of health data.
